Product Overview
Oratex White 2M
The Oratex aircraft fabric is a high-tech product for covering larger model aircraft and is being used to cover the Ultralight foot launch glider Achaeopterix (in Oratex white) which is flown by an onboard pilot (no radio control!). Compared to Oracover covering film, the Oratex aircraft fabric has a positive aerodynamical effect to the flight quality of your model airplane.
Thanks to the special structure of the fabric, a micro vortex effect is generated, which turns the boundary layer of the fabric into a turbulent layer. The above located steady flow is being accelerated through this turbulent flow and aspirated. The acceleration and the aspiration guide the airflow towards the trailing edge. In other words: the Oratex fabric reduces the inducted drag.
Your advantages: In landing approach the aircraft will have a stable flight even at low speed, and in high speed flight it flies more energy efficiently, that means you are able to fly faster with the installed engine power, owing to the reduction of the inducted drag. Oratex is available in an extended range of attractive colours. The specially for Oratex developed hotmelt adhesive has an extremely strong adherence, so that it anchors supremely well on the surface to which the covering is ironed-on.
